God's (Perfect) Timing

God's (Perfect) Timing

In this episode we talk about the stress and struggles we deal with when we feel that God doesn't move when we anticipated Him too. But we must remember that God works in His own way and time. We will look at the life of Joseph and how God used him to save his family and the future nation of Israel. When his brothers thought he would  have revenge on them, he tells them in Genesis 50:19, " Do not be afraid, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people."

Joseph's dreams took 22 years to be fulfilled.

In John 11 we see the story of Lazarus and that it took 4 days before Jesus came to raise him and show that:
1)God's timing is perfect in that it grows our faith as we are forced to wait; and He alone gets the glory, honor and praise.
2)God's ways are not our ways. Isaiah 55:8-9
3)God has the final say. When most want to put a period at the end of the sentence, God puts a comma.

Psalms 27:14- waiting on God

Excerpt from Dr. Charles Stanley sermon titled "When God says wait":
When we are in a hurry to make a decision and move forward rather than seeking God’s timing, we need to heed the words of Psalm 27:14, “Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the Lord.”

God’s timing isn’t just good; it’s perfect. He is omniscient and knows all things in the past, present, and future. The Lord sees every aspect of our lives, including our needs and desires. In His great wisdom, He understands what’s best for us. His divine schedule for our lives is always perfect and achieves His good purposes.

In contrast, we are often in a hurry to get what we want. Since we have limited knowledge and understanding, we should pray about the situation and wait for God to unfold the path He has for us. But in our haste to move ahead, we often make big decisions without asking the Lord to show us His perfect timing in the matter.

7 points of God's timing
1) He is Patient- 2 Peter 3:8-9

2) God Directs- Proverbs 16:9

3) His Timing- Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

4) Live for Today- Proverbs 27:1

5) A Hope and a Future- Jeremiah 29:11-12

6) Wait Quietly- Psalms 27:14, Lamentations 3:25-26

7) Submit to Him- Proverbs 3:5-6

Yet I knew God had prepared me for precisely this time and moment to use me.

Hebrews 4:16

Song by Dottie Peoples titled "He's an on time God"
chorus:
He's an on time God, yes he is (oh oh oh)
On time God, yes he is
Job said
He may not come when you want him
But he'll
Be there right on time
I'll tell you
He's an on time God, yes he is
